Dunedin Guest House is conveniently located in the Prestonfield area, 2.5miles from the city centre. Within close proximity there is a large selection of excellent restaurants ranging from traditional Scottish to international. In the area there is also plenty of shopping facilities, Internet Cafes and pubs with live music. Edinburgh is a very lively city and there is always something of interest taking place throughout the year, especially during the summer months. Golf lovers can easily reach Prestonfield Golf Course in a two-minute walk or St. Andrews is one and a half hours drive away.
Ideally located in Prestonfield right next to the spectacular Holyrood Park with its beautiful walks and views of Edinburgh. Walk up the imposing Arthur’s Seat for a panoramic view of the city and its surroundings. The nearby Royal Commonwealth Pool with its Olympic size pool and fitness area is only five minutes walk from our front door, and the Edinburgh Festival Theatre and other cultural venues are also nearby.
Coming by Plane
Take the shuttle bus (called “Airlink”) to city centre (Princes Street) followed by Lothian Bus 30 or 33 to Dalkeith Road. (2 stops after Commonwealth Swimming Pool) From the bus stop walk a few metres back towards the city centre and you will find Priestfield Road on the right, Dunedin Guest House is number 8.
Coming by Train
The nearest railway station is Edinburgh Waverley. Once there, take Waverley Steps onto Princes Street, cross towards shops and take Lothian Bus 30 or 33 from Princes Street. Alternatively from North Bridge take Lothian Bus 14, 30, 33, or First Bus 86 to Dalkeith Road. (2 stops after Commonwealth Swimming Pool) From the bus stop walk a few metres back towards the city centre and you will find Priestfield road on the right, Dunedin Guest House is number 8.
Coming by Car
From the North:
We are situated 2 km south of the city centre on the A7 (Dalkeith Road). Turn left at the first set of major traffic lights after the Royal Commonwealth Swimming Pool; our house is on the right.
From the South:
Follow the A7; passing by the new City Hospital on Old Dalkeith Road until you come to a large intersection called Cameron Toll taking the middle lane marked on the road “Old City”. Continue under the railway bridge on the A7 (now Dalkeith Road) for about 500m until the second intersection with traffic lights. Turn right along Priestfield Road and our house is on the right – about 50 yards.
